Well our summer is officially over...

School has started. Ugh. I was having such a fun summer and WHAM! School starts again. You would think it was I, Suzanne mother of three, father to none, who was going back to school. Thus it is true. I shall return to school, but to substitute teach not to learn. Well I might add a little note, I usually learn more than they do. Savannah is the last one in school, another 10 years of insanity. Ooo Did I say that out loud? Ok, well I have put two kids through school and I know insanity is on the way. It is called high school. But at least I have a break for now. Yea right, Savannah and I are already arguing about what she wears in the morning. Uniforms are not all created equal! I shall say no more about that.

Anyway, fun things coming up. Labor day, we get to go to the pool again one last time. Last dip, yea! We will be enjoying the company of the sweetest little college student ever! Louremy Pena, a dear friend of ours will stay with us for a while. I wanted to adopt her, but her mom really likes her and said she is the only girl in the family of 4 boys and is not willing to part with her permanently. She is a freshman at UNCC studying engineering, and her father got a new job in Memphis. Needless to say we are thrilled to have her join our little throng. Jerry says it is no problem to add one more girl. What a good guy, huh? It may be an excuse to do more fishing, maybe? Cami is still working at X-treme play, she loves it. We finally got her to take the placement and compass exams to enter RCCC, she will be ready for the spring semester. She is pretty excited.

Well that is it for now. I guess I will have to change the name of this blog. LOL

Ultimate Vacation Spot

I think we have found the truly untapped beauty and picturesqueness of the south! www.innofthesouth.com The thing they don't tell you about is all the "Gone With The Wind memorabilia they have around. Be sure to go on the virtual tour on the website, that will save a lot of blog space.

Ok, the vacation trip. We left on Friday and drove to Knoxville to stay the night in the most awful, nasty most expensive place around. There is a very long ugly story there, I won't bore you with it. Then we got up as early as we could and drove to Louisville, KY to attend Jerry's mom's families reunion. It was nice to see everyone again (since last summer). See pix below. We stayed overnight and went to church with Aunt Lora and her husband Paul. It was nice little ward, strangely there was a lot of people from Utah there. Then we stayed another night and got up the next morning to go the Louisville Slugger museum where they make the base ball bats. That was a lot of fun. (again, see pix below) Then we drove on to Cincinnati. We wanted to see Uncle Carmel's wife Anne and Carmel's granddaughter Stevie Ray. She is Savannah's age and they really hit it off last year and Savannah was dying to see her again!. We also went to visit Jerry's cousin Steven. He lives in a nursing home and has Lou Gehrig's disease. What an awesome man! I was truly in awe of how Heavenly Father blesses us. Ask me about it later if you are interested. We then drove to Georgetown, KY and stayed over night before heading to the Smoky Mountains. Talk about horse country! It was beautiful and hot. We then drove to Sevierville, TN and stayed at the Clarion Inn. That could have been my whole vacation for all I care. It was so wonderful, indoor and outdoor pools, lazy river and a hot tub. See above for more details. We went one afternoon to see Dolly's Dixie Stampede. It was really cool, just like Medieval Times, you eat with your fingers and choose sides, the North or the South, every one got crazy and ate too much. We then drove though Gatlinburg, TN. We will definitely have to go visit after i get my feet fixed! There is way too much walking. I haven't been to Park City, UT before, but what I imagine it looking like is what Gatlinburg looks like. We then took the long way home just so we could stay in the mountains a little longer. When we peaked at the top of the mountains it was 89 degrees, by the time we got home it was 107 degrees.

So much for trying to decide whether to go to the mountains or the beach this summer? I went to both! I suggest every one go at least once to both places! Let me know when you want to go and I will be more than glad to tag along!

Disclaimer: Cami stayed home, she had to work, she also chose to stay home and take care of Maggie.
